Artist’s Statement

“My art work is about the force of nature, the fragility of life and the connection of all things. I grew up in rural New Brunswick fascinated by my natural surroundings. I observed insects, pretended to be one and looked at the sky wondering about the infinite universe.
My paintings are about optimism. I like to experiment with paint and try to find meaning in the resulting layers; the unconscious painting being my guide to what the painting wants to be. All my abstract works are produced that way. My landscapes, on the other hand, are carefully planned to evoke a mood or a particular feeling about a place.”
